Tour Description

Las Vegas visitors can experience Grand Canyon White Water Rafting – and yes, in just one day! Join Let’s Go Grand Canyon Tours and Hualapai River Runners for an amazing adventure. Starting bright and early with van service from your Las Vegas hotel, you’ll travel South over the breath-taking Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge to Kingman Arizona, stopping for a light breakfast.

lv-whitewater-04Upon leaving Kingman, you’ll travel along one of the last remaining stretches of the original Mother Road, Route 66 en route to the Hualapai Indian community of Peach Springs. Here you’ll begin your descent into the Grand Canyon on the Diamond Creek Road, the one and only road to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Along the way, keep an eye out for unusual desert plants, and even a wild burro or two!

At the banks of the Colorado River, you’ll meet your Native American river guide, who’ll give you a brief safety orientation and help you into your life vests and rain gear before boarding your pontoon raft. Then – hang on tight: you’ll dive into the white water right away! The rapids on this trip average Class II and III, considered “moderate” on a scale of I to IV, which makes this a perfect introduction to Grand Canyon white water rafting, appropriate for children as young as 8.

lv-whitewater-02After some excitement in the rapids, you break for a side hike to a travertine waterfall. Feel free to take the simple hike and ladder-assisted climb into a hidden cave, where a creek showers you with cool, refreshing spring water. Back on the river, it’s time for more thrills more white water awaits you! You’ll hurtle through nine sets of rated rapids before the river smooths out. All of this excitement will surely make you hungry and soon you break for lunch on a picturesque beach. Then it will be primarily smooth water that lets you kick back and reflect on your eventful day. You’ll coast past fluted rock formations and historic Separation Canyon, where 3 members of the first John Wesley Powell historic expedition of 1869 climbed out of the Canyon and vanished without a trace.

lv-whitewater-05Your final destination on the river is Quartermaster Canyon, where your river guide bids you farewell and you board a helicopter* for a brief flight to Grand Canyon West. Back on the rim, you then board your tour vehicle and head back to Las Vegas and your hotel.
