We had a really good experience at the Yippee-Ei-O! Steakhouse. The atmosphere is definitely old-school cowboy decor, in a really nice way. Our food was really good, served hot and in a really reasonable time. Our server was also very friendly and attentive. We would definitely go back again.
If you love great food with lots of flavor and great customer service, DO NOT EAT HERE!The zucchini and fried mushrooms were overcooked and overpriced. The beans were just out of a can so watery and absolutely no seasoning. The potato skins were bland. We wanted to send the beans back and they said you ordered them , you pay for them. They automatically charged a 15 percent tip and it was rude service and very very disappointing. By all means DO NOT EAT HERE! If they had an option of zero stars or less it would be appropriate for this restaurant.
The food tasted mediocre. Ordered the grilled chicken with spaghetti and it tasted rather bland and slightly burnt. A friend ordered a vegetarian dish and it turned out to be a plate of mostly raw vegetables. The service was acceptable. There is little motivation to come back again
Very disappointing experience. The breaded mushrooms were burnt, the chicken was paper-thin, drier than shoe leather, and tasted like it had been reheated in a microwave. The baked potato was just as bad—undercooked and hard in the center. We also ordered the burger and steak fries, but the fries were raw in the middle. Worst of all, everything was completely lacking in flavor. The only halfway decent item was the corn—and let’s be honest, it’s hard to mess up boiled corn. We weren’t the only ones leaving plates full of uneaten food. For the price, the quality was unacceptable. Definitely do not recommend.
Wood fired steaks were terrific. The beans were delicious, and the corn was sweet. Atmosphere was a typical cowboy motif with country music playing. The waiter was attentive.

Yippee‑Ei‑O! Steakhouse has been welcoming hungry canyon explorers since the early 1990s. Housed in a timber‑clad building beside Grand Canyon Camper Village, the restaurant channels Old West charm with wagon‑wheel chandeliers, rough‑hewn log walls and country music. The menu centers on mesquite‑grilled rib‑eyes, T‑bones and sirloins, but also offers burgers, chicken, salmon and vegetarian pasta. Entrées include soup or salad plus sides such as baked beans and corn‑on‑the‑cob, making it a hearty stop after a day on the rim. A full bar pours local craft beers, Arizona wines and classic cocktails. Service is casual, portions are generous and walk‑ins are welcome; large groups should call ahead in peak summer.
By Car: From Grand Canyon South Entrance, drive 2 mi south on AZ‑64; restaurant is on the right just past Camper Village. By Shuttle: Tusayan Route (Purple) of the Grand Canyon National Park shuttle stops at Camper Village (seasonal). By Tour Bus: Most South Rim day tours stop in Tusayan; ask your driver for a meal break here.
