Description

Lipan Point sits along Desert View Drive, 6 mi (9.7 km) west of Desert View Watchtower. The overlook reveals the Unkar Delta, a broad river terrace once inhabited by ancestral Puebloan peoples, and the Grand Canyon Supergroup’s colorful rock strata. From here visitors can trace nearly a mile of the Colorado River, watch afternoon shadows creep across Vishnu Schist, and spot rafters negotiating Hance Rapid. A short paved path leads to multiple rail‑protected viewpoints, interpretive panels, and benches.
