Description

Established in 1997, Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park is managed by the Navajo Nation Parks & Recreation Department. The park’s sculpted Navajo Sandstone passages—formed by flash‑flood erosion—are accessible only on guided tours led by Navajo outfitters. Upper Antelope Canyon (Tsé bighánílíní, “the place where water runs through rock”) features level, wheelchair‑friendly sand floors, while Lower Antelope Canyon (Hazdistazí) requires ladders and narrow twists.
