Description
Pronounced “wall‑BY,” Hwal’bay is the Hualapai word for “people of the tall pines.” The gallery was created to preserve and share tribal heritage with visitors to Grand Canyon West. Panels, photographs, and multimedia displays trace Hualapai history from ancestral times to the present, highlighting traditional lifeways, the tribe’s stewardship of 108 miles of canyon rim, and the development of the world‑famous Skywalk. A small retail corner supports local artists by selling handmade beadwork, basketry, and silverwork. Because it sits next to the Cabins at Grand Canyon West and the Gwe‑Ma’jo Restaurant, the gallery is an easy stop while exploring Hualapai Point.

Car: 2‑hour drive (≈125 mi) from Las Vegas via US‑93 and Pierce Ferry Rd to the Grand Canyon West entrance; follow signs to Hualapai Point.
