I have segmented my review between the heliport up top, the heliport down below and the boat tour at the bottom. This part deals with the flight down into the canyon. Pictures are from two distinct trips so may be jumbled. Before you fly down they have to weight you for proper seating and balancing of the helicopter so they are taking this short flight seriously. You start taking off over flat ground and then the bottom falls out and you are close to a mile high above the canyon floor. The downward flight circles around guano point and down to the boat launch area. Some fantastic views of the canyon walls during this short trip. I would do this excursion first, immediately upon arrival at the Grand Canyon West when time is of the least essence regarding your return flight. You will normally fly back up with the same group you flew down with but you may have a different seat depending on whether staff are on the flight down or up.

There wasn't much of a chopper ride. However they took us down to the river Colorado for a boat ride. The boat ride was memorable. I only wished the sky view of the Grand Canyon from the helicopter could be reorganized.

Papillon helicopter tour into the canyon with bait tour was excellent! Our pilot, Raphael, was kind and professional while providing us with stunning views and interesting facts about the canyon. Our boat tour was equally excellent, with the capitan showing us the river and providing multiple opportunities for photos. I highly recommend this combination tour!

We took the heli tour to the bottom for the raft trip down the river. It was very organized, the staff and flight crew at the top and bottom were friendly and helpful. There were safety videos provided to all passengers before the flight. It was a great experience.

My family and I went on the helicopter ride and pontoon boat ride on the Colorado River this past weekend. We were up there for the 35th anniversary and had a special wristband that gave 1/2 off for Mohave County residents. It cost 150 dollars per person, which was an excellent deal. Staff were friendly and helpful. There was a do and don't video prior to flying. It was a little confusing on where to purchase tickets. We had to go back to the gift shop to purchase tickets, which is across the street from the heliport. The flight was about 10 minutes each way, and the pontoon ride was about 25 minutes. You can have up to 6 people per flight. It was a wonderful experience.
