We would say that this is one in the same with the Carl Hayden Visitor Center offering the same services, including a U.S. Park Ranger’s Information Desk. There is plenty of free parking including space for oversized vehicles. Inside you will find numerous interpretive displays, a gift shop, a theatre, restrooms and a viewing area to the rear. The viewing area provides you with an excellent view of the dam and bridge.

The lady who took care of us at the visitor center just gave us a leaflet that we already had. Impossible to get information on the trails we wanted to do, she didn't want to tell us. She dispatched us in 30 seconds even though she spent a lot of time with American people. Bad experience. Fortunately we were better received in other visitor centers in the country.

Opened in 1968 and renamed for long‑serving Arizona Senator Carl Hayden, the center is the primary orientation hub for Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Exhibits explain how the 710‑foot‑tall dam generates hydroelectric power, controls Colorado River flows, and created Lake Powell’s 1,960 miles of shoreline. Visitors can watch a 20‑minute film, browse Glen Canyon Conservancy’s bookstore, or join a guided tour that descends inside the dam. Air‑conditioning, accessible restrooms, free Wi‑Fi, and ample parking make it a comfortable year‑round stop for trip planning, photography, and learning about the region’s geology, ecology, and cultural history.
Car: 2 mi (3 km) north of downtown Page on US‑89; follow signs for Glen Canyon Dam. Bus/Shuttle: Regional tour shuttles stop in Page; taxis or rideshares cover the final 2 mi. Plane: Page Municipal Airport (PGA) is 3 mi/10 min away with rental cars and taxis available.
