This bridge is located along U.S. Highway 89 on the north end of Page, Arizona and crosses the Colorado River just south of the dam. It is also known as the Colorado River Bridge with a bridge deck height 700 feet above the Colorado River and an overall length of 1,271 feet. This steel arch bridge was built by the Bureau of Reclamation and when completed in 1959, was the highest arch bridge in the world and is still one of the highest arch bridges in the USA today. At the time, the primary purpose of the bridge was to facilitate the transport of materials for the construction of the Glen Canyon Dam, which is adjacent to the bridge. For the best view of the bridge, we recommended a stop at the Carl Hayden Visitor Center on the west side of the bridge.
