What happens on the 4th of July in Grand Canyon National Park?

Hi, we spend a night on 4th of july in the park. What happens on this special day? (while visitor is looking at the Canyon and Rivers Adventures Tour)

No fireworks are allowed in National Parks, but there might be special events in outlying communities such as Tusayan, Williams, Flagstaff or Page, Arizona.

WILLIAMS, FLAGSTAFF, GRAND CANYON - 4th of JULY CELEBRATIONS GUIDE

July 1 – 3 (WILLIAMS) The Williams Main Street Association in partnership with the Special Olympics of Arizona presents this KCBS sanctioned BBQ cook-off July 1st & 2nd and an amateur backyard BBQ cook-off July 3rd. A beer garden featuring regional micro breweries, street dance and kids’ zone are all a part of this 4th of July weekend in the cool pines of Northern Arizona, 800-863-0546.

July 3 (GRAND CANYON/TUSAYAN) As soon as the sun sets, our iconic Electric Light Night Parade will set into motion an evening filled with live music, dancing, great food and drink. Enjoy ol’fashioned games and activities, entertainment by James Peshlaki’s Native Dancers and the local band, Exit 64, an auction filled with some of the best items, tours and getaways from our local attractions as well as the surrounding area. The fun begins at 3 pm, Entrance fee $5 per adult, kids 12 and under free. Electric Light Night Parade is free and starts at 8pm. As the festivities unfold, families and friends will gather to celebrate the spirit of Independence Day under the stunning starry sky. However, amidst the joyous atmosphere, the recent memories of another tragedy in Grand Canyon weigh heavily on our hearts, reminding us of the unpredictable nature of life in this breathtaking landscape. July 4 (WILLIAMS) One of the longest parades in Northern Arizona starting at 6pm through downtown, local Rotary BBQ, Kiwanis Korn Roast and long running ice cream social at the Methodist Church, Cataract Creek Rambler steam engine runs all weekend long at the Grand Canyon Railway and many more family activities, 800-863-0546.

July 4 (FLAGSTAFF) Drawing more than 10,000 people, this annual tradition has more than 100 entries. Designated an “Arizona Treasure” by former Governor Janet Napolitano. Historic Downtown Flagstaff, 9 am, 928-774-4505.

  1. Our son's birthday is July 4th. We will be at the grand canyon during the day. Where are the nearest firework displays?
