How long from Las Vegas to Grand Canyon West Rim?

Alley:
About 2.5 hours
Visitor:
So would it be closer from Hoover Dam? Everywhere I look it states 4-5 hours.
Alley:
Slightly – Hoover Dam is about 30 minutes outside of Las Vegas. That 4-5 hour figure you’ve seen refers to Grand Canyon South Rim, the National Park which is a totally separate area from Grand Canyon West.
Visitor:
Which one is the better of the 2?
Alley:
The South Rim is considered to be the “heart” of the Grand Canyon. The best views of the canyon you seen pictures of over time, plus more visitor services are available there.
Visitor:
Okay Thank you very much.
Alley:
You’re welcome – may we help with anything else?
Visitor:
Which one has the skywalk?
Alley:
Grand Canyon West
Visitor:
Okay thank you very much
Alley:
You’re welcome 🙂

By the way…here is a video that discusses the “rims” and their differences, pros/cons, etc.

    1. Bob,

No, it requires paying an Entrance Fee to the Hualapai Tribe.

This is why all the Tours are a Package upon arrival at Grand Canyon West…they include the Entrance Fee to the Hualapai Nation.

      Thank You,

      Karlyn
