Debate Continues Regarding Canyon’s South Rim Development

The Grand Canyon is a great place for visitors to enjoy nature and take in the splendor of the environment. It is also a great place for businesses to provide jobs and make money from tourism. While both business and nature have coincided for a while, there has been heated debate over the Grand Canyon’s South Rim recently.

Tusayan, a community located near the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, recently inked a deal with Italian developers that could open the way for construction projects, homes, hotels, restaurants, and shops to be opened close to the national landmark. Critics believe that this expansion could ultimately harm the natural area due to possible overpopulation. If more people lived there, water and other natural resources in the South Rim could be used up.
